Under the direction of the Vice President, Service Lines, The Executive Director of the Surgery Service Line is accountable for leadership, direction and implementation of Surgical Services for John Muir Health. The Executive Director will lead the effort to standardize care delivery, improve clinical quality and outcomes across the Region; reduce clinical and practice variation; improveoperations and financial performance; and develop and implement key strategies. The director works collaboratively with the Physician dyads, with an initial focus on establishing a Total Joint Replacement Center of Excellence and Spine Center of Excellence. The Executive Director will develop and implement services and program strategies that provide an exceptional patient-centered experience with a seamless care delivery system and innovative care models to improve quality outcomes. Uses established benchmarks as targets for the surgical service lines. The Executive Director will coordinate and project manage all improvement activities related to the entire Service Line, including those within the JMH hospitals and collaborating with those taking place in the OP setting to ensure the goals/alignment with the COE. Such improvement activities include development and monitoring of protocols and clinical pathways, order-sets, and the collection of quality metrics in collaboration with the physician champions for the Sub Service Lines and COE. The Executive Director will support the development and implementation of new and existing programs in Surgery and the COE throughout the organization and with external partners. This includes internal and external collaboration with other departments and physicians to facilitate efficient and effective operational business strategies. This leader understands clinical, operational, and financial opportunities and challenges.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing or equivalent – Required
Master’s Degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Healthcare Administration or Business Administration - Required
Experience:
5-7 Years Acute Hospital Health Care with progressive leadership and
Expertise in medical-surgical services, perioperative or and business operations
Skills:
Proven ability to work effectively with members of the medical staff
Communication skills to express self concisely and articulate both orally and in writing and maintaining productive relationships with physicians
Knowledge of management and performance improvement concepts
Ability to collect and analyze surgical outcomes data or registry data

Exempt Salaried (United States of America)Pay Range:
$236,204.00 - $354,306.00SalaryOffer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
