The Clinical Manager will be responsible for organizing, directing, and oversight of patients in Medical Oncology. Develops staffing plan to ensure appropriate staff level based on patient volume and activity. Responsible for hiring, maintaining and improving competencies, and staff development to increase their skills, knowledge and experience. Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions and action plans. This position will track and analyze productivity and quality outcomes and addresses opportunities for improvement utilizing process improvement strategies. This position reports to the Executive Director of Oncology and collaborates with other managers, staff and an interdisciplinary team to standardize, update and/or maintain policies and procedures to ensure consistent compliance. Promotes compliance with internal standards and regulatory and accreditation requirements. This position will ensure adherence to John Muir Policies and procedures and will work in collaboration with leadership and staff to recommend adjustments and updates. Executes priorities to ensure implementation of the operation plan within the work unit or units. Promotes staff accountability and empowerment through formal and informal processes. Accountable for appropriate consistent staffing and scheduling. Drives and ensures positive and effective full-service patient care to include patient advocacy. Assures that the unit maintains a patient focus by serving as a role model with consistent focus of customer relations, providing feedback regarding positive and negative patient comments and participating in customer satisfaction initiatives. Serves as a role model for collaboration and collegiality on interdisciplinary teams.Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Required
Bachelor of Science Nursing - Required
Experience:
5 years Nursing - Leadership as a Charge Nurse, Supervisor or Manager Required
3-7 years of Oncology Nursing experience preferred
Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certificate - ONS Oncology Nursing Society Required or obtained within the first 6 months of date of hire
Specialty areas may have additional requirements - Required
Oncology Certified Nurse - Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation - Preferred
Specialty Certifications - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center - Preferred within 2 years of hire and Must be included in the list of allowed certifications by ANCC for Magnet demographics

Skills:
Ability to work collaboratively with providers and an interdisciplinary medical and ancillary staff
Working knowledge of oncology practice operations with a focus on quality delivered patient care
Ability to work in a service culture environment that is consistent with the John Muir Brand
Ability to gather and analyze data to look for opportunities for improvement, training, coaching and education
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to prioritize and lead and manage multiple demands in an efficient manner
Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal effectively with diverse skill sets and personalities, participate effectively as a team player.
Knowledge of computer-based programs

Evenings and weekend may be required

$169,496.00 - $254,245.00SalaryNote: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
