RN - Medical Oncology Clinic - OSC - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days

Job Description:

Working within the Outpatient Specialty Clinic, the RN - Medical Oncology Clinic provides clinical support to the providers, ensuring a highly efficient, well-trained clinical team that supports the optimal level of patient care and patient satisfaction. Critical thinking skills are utilized to interpret complex information and guide patients with their oncology or hematology symptoms/treatments. Performs duties supporting and/or assisting the providers with in-office procedures and patient education including treatment counseling, injection instruction and symptom management. Triages and manages emergent and non-emergent patient phone calls, MyChart messages, and add-on clinic patients.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - Must be obtained within 4 years of hire if hired after 2015 - Required

Experience:

  • 1 year Healthcare - Acute Care; 1 year ambulatory, triage or medical office experience - Preferred

Additional Experience:

  • Nursing - Specialty Care in Oncology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy or OB GYN - Preferred

License/Certification:

  • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Registered Nursing and BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required

  • Epic - Proficiency must be passed within 90 days of Start Date - Required

Skill - Core:

  • Must have clinical expertise in working directly with patients, providers and staff

  • Outstanding motivational and communication skills, especially the ability to communicate instructions for treatments and symptom management to patients, giving them the desired level of comfort and confidence.

  • Leadership skills to delegate and provide direction/guidance to staff

  • Must have strong sensitivity to the needs and anxieties of patients and the ability to help them communicate, listen and learn.

  • Excellent team player, including the ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to deal diplomatically with all types of individuals under stressful situations.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent customer service, time management and organizational skills.

Work Shift:

08.0 - 09:00 - 17:30 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$73.09 - $98.66

Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
